The EFFECTIVE Consortium Meeting - June 14 and 15

First consortium meeting after the pandemic

The EFFECTIVE consortium meeting of 2022 was held at Garda and Arco in Italy from Jun 14 to Jun 15. This was the first in-person meeting since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Aquafil S.p.A hosted the meetings at its headquarters.

Besides the consortium partners, also the international partner of the project Genomatica (USA) was present to discuss the future of the project and of circular biobased materials. 

The meeting allowed the consortium partners to share updates on the progress of the project and sicuss about the next joint steps:

  • Discussion on the advancements and progress of each work package of the project
    • New improvements made in R&D by Sudzucker, Aquafil, Novamont, and Bio-Mi
    • LCA and social LCA process updates from LCE and CIRCE
    • Updated communication for the next months by Circular Change
  • Share views and results to pave the way forward
    • Next joint communication steps.
    • The path towards the pilot plants and the final event of the project
    • Defined next goals and milestones

The consortium meeting included the guided visit to the production facilities of Aquafil S.p.A. in Arco, Italy. Each consortium member was able to get first-hand experience on how sustainable and circular nylon 6 is produced. The visit included the whole process units and the testing area with the laboratory pilots of the project.
