The Circular Bioeconomy Joint Undertaking is a reality
EU Parliament votes in approval for CBE JU
The European Parliament voted on November 21st in favour of the Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU). The CBE JU will be the successor of highly successful BBI JU for the 2021-2027 period. In the month of November, the European Council will adopt the proposal and by the end of 2021 CBE JU will be launched.
This is a new beginning for the circular biobased industries and initiatives all over Europe.
The new partnership between the EU and the Bio-based Industries Consortium aims to:
- Build upon the great achievements of the BBI JU
- Contribute to the European Green Deal and the circular economy
- Contribute to the climate targets set by the EU
- Foster RDI in circular biobased solutions
- Increasing collaboration between stakeholders and regions
