Südzucker hosts the 4th Plenary Meeting

One of the largest beet processing factories in Europe was chosen as the place for the partners of project EFFECTIVE too meet. After the traditional greeting of Project Coordinator Mr Edi Kraus, Chairman of AquafilSLO, Work Package leaders presented the latest news. The project is approaching several important milestones and it was inspiring to hear the reports by AquafilSLO, AquafilITA, Novamont, Bio Mi - the EFFECTIVE biobased materials becoming a reality! The partners also had the opportunity to see a sample of biobased polyesters, which will be used for non-food packaging and other applications. LCE presented new guidelines on eco-designing biobased and circular products, while CIRCE presented a consumer survey, which will be disseminated soon. Last, but not least, Circular Change showed the fast-growing Stakeholder Group. 

The Plenary Meeting ended with a tour of the sugar factory in Offstein where the group could learn about every step on the way from a raw beet to crystalized sugar. 

The following months will be marked by a mid-project reporting period and a Review Meeting with the BBI-JU, with the next meeting scheled in Brussels.
